EXAM PREPARATION – AWS Certified Machine Learning – Specialty

I have been studying not only for this certification of Machine Learning but for other in Data Engineering since I started my master’s studies in Data Science a few years ago. And the reason behind that is that I was already working with the AWS console and was overwhelmed with the changing data management I saw while a database administrator. I still remember everyone talking about this Machine Learning thing, and I had no clue back then what it was. I was seen many database administrators mistakenly changing their role titles to Data Engineer, while this role can even be split between database-centric, generalist, and pipeline-centric data engineer. On top of that, depending on the type of organization you are working in, a Data Engineer role embeds the Machine Learning Role.
In some cases, the professional works under the Data Scientist, and it can embed even the Machine Learning, Data Mining, Data Analysis, and Data Visualization fields/roles. As you can see, Machine Learning is related to many areas, and in some cases, it is embedded in the daily activities of other functions. Therefore, for this certification, I followed the following path below:

Amazon itself presents a preparation path below that can be found at https://aws.amazon.com/pt/training/learning-paths/machine-learning/exam-preparation/. I was already familiar with many of them, such as CRISP-DM, Big Data on AWS, and Types of Machine Learning Solutions. Still, I feel missing some basics, such as Linear algebra calculations or any other mathematics behind ML. Of course, I thought the preparation required a pre-requisite, but one should take some measures to be considered a professional. Nevertheless, this platform offers free coursers that I enjoyed and I recommend one to take a look on it as well the official documentation :

One can do great in this exam by studying the documentation and doing some study-case scenarios (some of them I covered on this blog as DMS migrations, conversion from .CSV to parquet format file, and others). Additionally, if you are preparing for this exam, I covered two topics that I described above and it is required on the exam that can be helpful for you; one is the CRISP-DM model, and the other is a glimpse of Big Data Analytics on my thesis that can be found here: http://urn.kb.se/resolve?urn=urn:nbn:se:ltu:diva-95620.
