Unlike April’s PSU where Oracle reported that there was no PSU for version 12.2 through the note on Metalink (MOS) (Doc ID 2228898.1):
“Patch Availability for Oracle Database 12.2.0.1
There are no Quarterly Security Patches for 12.2.0.1 for the April 2017 cycle as there are in the Database CPU security vulnerabilities, nor any recommended non-security bug fixes applicable at this time. The July 2017 CPU cycle will be the first Quarterly Security Patch cycle for 12.2.0.1 ”
For July, the then-mentioned RU is available for download in the note “Patch Set Update and Critical Patch Update July 2017 Availability Document (Doc ID 2261562.1)” specifically in section 3.1.4.3.
In addition, one point to highlight are the new nomenclatures: RUs means Release Upgrades and RURs means Release Upgrade Revisions and, respectively, replace the Bundle Patches and the PSU in the new version. For more information about the new nomenclature, I recommend reading the “Oracle Database – Overview of Database Delivery Methods (Doc ID 1962125.1)”.
